The first thing which you should make sure is that their travel area is comfortable and safe. A pet carrier is ideal from preventing your pet from jumping around or being hurt when you apply brakes. Try to make them cozy by providing them with their bed or blanket, and a toy. If you are travelling long distance then it is recommended that you stop every two to three hours. As long journey creates fatigue for you, it does the same for your pet, hence it is suggested that you take breaks and indulge your pet in some activities, like dog walks or a ball game with your animal. The activities would make your pet exhausted and it would like to take a nap. Make sure you carry plenty of water in special water bottles made just for your pet.
